Plain-language summary
- everQUIN is a self-knowledge and practice tool. It is not medical, psychological, or crisis care.
- The canon, the 90-day Walk, every pillar tool, the core Icebreaker decks and every song's flagship version are free.
- Patron (monthly or yearly subscription) includes everything, now and to come. Founding Patron is the same, forever, for a one-time price — offered only during the launch window. You can also buy single items (packs, genres, study guides) and keep them.
- Subscriptions auto-renew until you cancel. You manage and cancel them in your App Store or Google Play account — not inside everQUIN.
- Your data lives on your device. There are no accounts. See the Privacy Policy.
- Use the app as intended. Don't break the law with it, and don't try to defeat its purchases or licensing.
1. Acceptance
By downloading, installing, or using everQUIN ("the app"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you don't agree, don't use the app. If you use the app on behalf of someone else, you confirm you're authorized to accept these terms for them.
2. Who can use the app
The app discusses mortality, relationships, and self-knowledge and is intended for adults. Children under 13 should not use it. If you're a minor in your jurisdiction, use the app only with the involvement of a parent or guardian. Adults-only content (Icebreaker's After Dark table and the Ravel Walk's opt-in intimacy track) is for adults only, and opens only by choice.
3. What the app is — and is not
everQUIN is an educational and reflective practice tool built around the everQUIN framework, for personal growth and self-reflection.
The app is not a substitute for professional care. It does not provide medical, psychological, psychiatric, therapeutic, legal, or financial advice, and nothing in it creates a clinician–patient or professional relationship. The framework's commentary, questions, "I'm stuck" responses, and any reflective content are general, not tailored clinical guidance.
If you are in crisis or may harm yourself or others, stop and contact your local emergency number or a crisis line immediately. In the US you can call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline). The app cannot and does not monitor your wellbeing or summon help.
Icebreaker facts (dates, events, charts) come from reference data we check carefully, but may contain errors. They are for play, not for reliance.
4. Your data
The app has no user accounts and no server-side profile. Your content is stored on your device. You are responsible for your device, your backups, and anything you export or share. Deleting the app, or using the in-app "Delete all data" control, removes your local data and is irreversible. How data is handled is described in the Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.
5. Purchases, subscriptions, and billing
Free for everyone, always: the canon, onboarding and the full 90-day Walk, every pillar tool, the core Icebreaker decks, every song's flagship version, and the pass-the-phone Ravel Walk.
Optional paid offerings:
- Patron — an auto-renewing subscription (monthly or yearly) that includes everything in the app, present and future: every Icebreaker pack, every music genre, the study guides, unlimited qLENS, Your Record and the autobiography PDF, backup & restore, the full pathway and challenge libraries, every guided walk as it ships, and the Patron mark.
- Founding Patron — a one-time purchase granting everything Patron includes, permanently, including future content. Offered only until January 31, 2027; owners keep it after that date.
- Single items — Icebreaker packs, the All Icebreaker packs bundle, a music genre, the full music library, and the study guides. Each is bought once and kept, including if a Patron subscription later lapses. Bundles marked "every current and future" include items added later. Guided walks, when they ship, are bought once per pair: the person invited walks free.
We never sell something before it exists: an item appears for sale only once its content is in the app.
All purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) under their terms. We do not receive or store your payment details. Prices are shown in the app in your local currency by the store.
Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. The renewal is charged to your store account within 24 hours before the period ends.
Cancellation. Cancel anytime in your store account:
- iOS: Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
- Android: Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep access through the end of the paid period. Single items and Founding Patron are unaffected.
Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. We can't issue store refunds directly.
Price changes. If we change subscription prices, the store will notify you and, where required, ask for your consent before the new price applies. Free content stays free.
Restore. "Restore past purchases" re-applies a purchase or active subscription tied to the same store account. Purchases are not transferable between store accounts or platforms. Where the store supports Family Sharing for a product, members of your family group may use it under the store's rules.
6. License
Subject to these terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on devices you own or control, as allowed by the App Store or Google Play terms. On iOS, the Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the standard EULA at <https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/>) also applies, and where it conflicts with these terms for the iOS app, that EULA governs the conflicting term.
7. Intellectual property
The everQUIN framework, the canon text and narration, the music, the app's design, code, copy, and brand marks are owned by the everQUIN team or its licensors and are protected by law. These terms don't transfer any ownership to you. Content you create (your journal entries, marvels, ring data, photos, reflections) remains yours; the app claims no rights to it. Share cards you create may be shared freely for personal, non-commercial use.
8. Acceptable use
Don't:
- reverse engineer, decompile, or tamper with the app except where the law expressly permits;
- circumvent, disable, or defeat purchase, licensing, or entitlement checks, or download songs outside the app;
- use the app to break the law or infringe anyone's rights, including by adding someone's photo or details without a right to do so;
- resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the app, the canon, or the music without permission.
9. Third-party services
The app can open external services you choose — your device's share sheet, your store's subscription management, your browser for these documents — and, if you opt in, an approximate weather lookup. Songs stream from our media host. Those services have their own terms; we're not responsible for them.
10. Disclaimers
The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows — including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any outcome will result from using it. You use the framework and the app at your own discretion and risk.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the everQUIN team is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, arising from your use of the app. Where liability can't be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the app in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
12. Changes to the app and these terms
We may update, suspend, or discontinue features. We may revise these terms; when we make material changes we'll update the "Last updated" date and, where the change is significant, notify you in-app. Continuing to use the app after changes take effect means you accept the revised terms.
13. Termination
You may stop using the app and delete it at any time. We may suspend or end your license if you materially breach these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, governing law) survive termination.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the everQUIN team is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live.
